Happy hour is Monday-Friday from 3-5.
Yes, you can customize items on the menu for them to be gluten-friendly. They do not have a specific gluten-free menu, however I was able to ask them to omit ingredients to make my meal gluten-friendly enough that I did not get sick. The meal was amazing for my entire party.
We don't take reservations actually, so just come on down expecting a wait, get on the list, wander around town and we'll call you when the table is ready!
Between $12-14 as an average. Specials are double that and some appetizers a bit less
Saltwater has very good food and great service. The menu changes every day, and there are plenty of things to choose from. And it is a funky little dive of a bar with a more than reasonable selection of things to drink. Just the kind of thing we need in Langley.
They managed to get us a table for 6 and the service was great. They mains were delayed because of the order never made it to the kitchen but they brought us this smoked salmon on the house for snack while we waited which tells you they care about their customers. Everything else was just delicious. You can’t get any better (and fresh) Oysters than here. Great beer and ambiance Recommended.
Cute little place for a nice lunch. Mine was OK (New England Clam Chowder and the crab cakes), but my wife loved hers (Ranier beer steamed Penn Cove mussels), so I gave it 4 stars. We sat at the counter and had excellent friendly service.
I stood at the open door waiting to order. The employees stood at the back facing my niece and me. One turned around and looked at us, then turned away. Another walked by, looked at us, and kept walking. The sign on the window said open at 12:00. We stood there for over five minutes. Then my niece saw there was a sign painted on the back of the open door that said open at 4:00. This is not obvious at all with the door open, and backwards writing. We left, as it was 3:45, and we didn't want to give business to such unfriendly, unhelpful employees, who obviously cared less about our business. We turned around at Sprinkles a minute later, and there were 4 men standing outside waiting to order, and one of the employees was right there helping them.
Fabulous, fresh seafood. The banana cream pie is the best I've ever had. The lobster roll is also the best I've ever had. The staff are super friendly and the ambience is chill but classy at the same time. You have to eat here if you come to whidbey island.
Fun location and incredibly busy! My wife and I have been coming to Whidbey for roughly 5 years now and have been trying to snag some seats for the last couple years. Some tasty cocktail options and a good bar selection. Definitely a flavorful take on their Penn Cove Mussels and would try again. Fish and Chips could use a little improvement but not something I would turn away.Perhaps adding in the ability to make reservations while also taking some walk-ins could help with the dining experience.
We drove by this town. By random choice chose this restaurant. It's a good find. Good view and tasty food. We got the fish taco and fish and chips. Highly recommend to anyone. Will also visit next time when we come.
Great seafood, cocktails and staff. Couldn't ask for anything more
Highly recommended. Delicious seafood, friendly service, great drink menu. The same high quality experience we've come to expect from the Star Bistro extended to an outstanding seafood menu. We arrived for lunch at a busy time and were offered a phone call by the host when our table was ready. Nice touch. Only complaint is the size... Be comfortable sitting close to your neighbor. But a tiny complaint relative to the tasty food and excellent service.
I love coming here and I always make sure I go once a month. Everything is fresh and yummy. My favorite thing is the salmon nuggets.
Amazing, fresh oysters. They have a substantial menu and great selection, even a enough options for those in your group for those who don't like seafood. I don't recommend visiting with small children. It's a small, quiet restaurant.
Stopped by for Saint Patrick’s Day dinner. Lots of great choices. If you like oysters they have a large selection. Only reason for 4 stars was because I was charged for a beer from someone else’s bill. No problem it’s a holiday. Will return when I’m in the area but look at the bill closer.
Amazing food and atmosphere. This place is a jewel in the Whidbey food scene.
Great atmosphere, great oysters. Definitely among the freshest, most mild and delicately flavored specimens I've ever had. It's a bit spendy for lunch but I would love to come back for drinks and dinner.
Service, food, and view. We've never been to Langley, we are a military family stationed in Oak Harbor. We had a little date here, it was wonderful. We sat in the front window, in the bar stools facing the street. We could see the water and the mountains just past the street and a tree turning yellow in lieu of fall. It was beautiful. The staff treated us warmly and they were very informative and respectful. There is one clean bathroom, with a toilet, urinal, and baby changingstation. The food was amazing, absolutely delicious. It's really a little upscale hole in the wall.
We absolutely love this place for their great food and delicious drinks! Everyone is always so nice and welcoming. Thanks!
Great local Northwest cuisine in one of the most-visited destinations in Washington. Enjoyed by locals and visitors alike, Saltwater is a few steps above average fare. There is a full bar and satisfying lunch and dinner menus. A perfect place to stop in for a meal or just a beverage and appetizers while you stroll around Langley. Today for lunch I enjoyed a salmon fillet grilled to specification and a wonderful butter lettuce salad topped with perfectly toasted hazelnuts along with a nice visit with a friend. Didn't take any pictures, sorry. It's a lovely spot with good food.
Great service, fun atmosphere, and good food. The risotto was amazing!
Food and service were great - even in the midst of social distancing.
Delicious seafood and hearty portions. I had grilled salmon with asparagus and roasted new potatoes. My wife had the steamed/boiled small seafood pot. Both were excellent. A fine place for dinner on Whidbey Island, just prior to the ferry.
Great fish and chips as well as delicious salad! Open door dining for fresh air too.
The Saltwater takeout window has been a lifesaver during this crazy locked-down time. I have made every loaf of bread, every soup, every pasta dish, every batch of cookies - and my family and I are so sick of my cooking!! It's too much. Too mundane. Being able to safely socially distance yet still get all our Saltwater's favorites - signature smoked salmon nuggets, fish and chips, best chowder ever, cocktails to go, and even freshly shucked oysters? It's like a mini vacation. A bright spot to look forward to. And we're all thrilled to get some of their coveted baked goods + baguettes as well. The staff is masked up and friendly - and ready to serve. The food, view across the street + sense of community is a balm during this time of isolation - thank you SW!!!
Good selection of seafood in a beautiful location. Friendly service. A little pricey but reflected in the ingredients - high quality, fresh seafood cooked perfectly and presented well. The beer-battered halibut was delicious.
PERFECT seafood! Got the fried oysters and everything from the crisp to the expertly cooked center was amazing. The staff are wonderful and pleasant to be around with a warm home environment of the restaurant. Not much seating so plan accordingly or be patient for a seat! IT'S WORTH IT!
Ordered the lobster roll and a full pound of clams. Both are really good. Really like the toast they use with the lobster roll, very crunchy on the outside. It's perfectly roasted. The clams are cooked with tomato, garlic and basil. A little bit salty so if you are a light flavor person then this might not be perfect for you, otherwise, worth the try!
A bit salty but good. The coleslaw was not good at all.
Tasty food and fun staff. Sat quickly in the bar area and had a couple apps, a lobster roll, and a dessert. All were a hit. Staff was attentive and kind and had a great attitude even near closing. Will gladly come back to try more from the ample menu.
This place does seafood right. You can get fresh oysters or a pot of shellfish. I'm a fan of this restaurant. The decor is very cute and it's located next to the water along the main road. After you're done with your meal here I recommend going down the street for some ice cream. If you have a dog, ask them for some ice cream for your pup.
Fun restaurant with a well balanced menu. Excellent servers, delightful rustic touches in the decor. Food was out quick and was delicious - the cod fish and chips plus a few fresh oysters on the side. Will definitely return soon.
Loved the cod fish and chips. Friend had crab cakes and smoked salmon and raved about it. Service was awesome. Will come back again
Really good spot for lunch! Fish and chips were great! The only reason for 4 stars is that it's a small restaurant, long waits and slow service because it was so crowded. I'm sure on off-season its wonderful and quick service! Highly recommend checking it out!
Had long wait to be seated but the food here is incredible. Anything seafood related will not disappoint. Also try the salmon nuggets, which are delightful and a lot better than the name suggests.
I spent time in Boston looking for a good Lobster Roll and ended up finding one of the best rolls here at home. No overwhelming flavors and the lobster was very tender. The food here has been excellent so far and quantity of crab in the Louie salad is unsurpassed. The triple ginger carrot cake was literally to die for as I learned during my last visit that I'm deathly allergic to cinnamon.
The fish and chips were amazing. Light, crispy but moist fish. The fries were the right cut, crisp and seasoned to perfection and the home made tartar was the best!
The host was very friendly, and we enjoyed the atmosphere from the very first moment we entered the place. Even though it was packed with people. Too bad I didn't ask for the waitress's name, but she was super nice and very helping. The food was good, and I truly enjoyed my arugula salad with crab. They have a great selection of oysters. Thanks.
Best oyster bar option. Friendly, quaint ambience. Great food and drinks.
Delicious fish tacos, great staff and good service. Try the happy hour menu
This place is hopping all year round because the seafood is so good. Fresh daily oyster sheet, mussels that are some of the best I've had. Attentive and friendly staff, they'll call you if you want to wander while waiting for a table. Highly recommend the wedge salad too, thick lardons of crispy bacon!
Cute, cozy, laid back seaside pub with daily seafood specials. Dense and delicious sourdough made by Seaside Bakery. Large selection of fresh oysters and overflowing seafood pots.
The takeout menu was delicious! Very impressed by how organized their setup outside is: they even have a tent to keep you out of the rain while you wait! We got the oysters, salmon nuggets (pleasant surprise! Very flavorful and not fried), and the clam chowder. There was SO much clam chowder packed with clams and goodness inside. Highly recommend stopping here if you can.
Had a very pleasant experience here on a Saturday evening. Not too long of a wait and the hostess was very accommodating to find us when a table was ready. The food was delicious and the staff even asked about what we liked about a new dish we tried out. Highly recommend!
Saltwater is simply amazing. Their oyster selection is delicious and vast. Their menu is reasonably priced for the fresh seafood. I had their crab cakes, and I want to go back and have many more. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Anytime I visit the island, I'm going back!
Great service, food was absolutely amazing. Had the clam chowder, seared halibut, risotto and grilled asparagus. I ate as slowly as possible to savor every bite. Small and bustling place but I never felt like I was in the way, highly recommend!
Great cocktails and delicious lunch! All of the cocktails looked fantastic, but my wife and I settled on the Paloma and the blackberry-lavender-bourbon concoction, which turned out to be excellent decisions! They were both so refreshing and a sweet treat that was a nice break from basic mimosas. And our entrees were equally delicious and refreshing. The Dungeness crab salad was nice and light - the crab was buttery and sweet and when mixed with the arugula, was tasty and light - not incredibly rich like you normally get with crab dishes. Her halibut po boy was perfectly seasoned and cooked - despite being fried, it wasn't heavy - and the roumalade complimented the fish perfectly. Overall, a great spot for lunch!
Such a great place. We had to wait 30 minutes for a table because we were a big party. The chef came over to apologise and gave us 3 free appetizers. The staff was all so friendly and the food was AMAZING!!
LOVE! All the food and drinks were on point; loved the seasonal cocktails and oyster shooters. Service was fast and friendly. Ordered the mussels, lobster roll, half a dozen oysters. Wish we had room for dessert - portions were on the larger side. Can't wait to go back!
Friendly Employees, GREAT food!
Very popular spot with tight seating. Can take a while to be seated. No reservations. Staff are friendly. Homemade hot sauces. They're light. Each is distinct and VERY good. Large seafood boil was huge and delicious. I prefer a heavier-flavored broth though. Wife had the mussels. Also great. Also a lighter broth. Had a variety of oysters on half-shell served with horseradish. Everything very fresh and tasty.
Super friendly staff and owners. Best local spot for oysters!
My family and I did takeout over the weekend, and it was very tasty! Ordered a half dozen oysters, halibut & chips, kids' fish & chips, and crabcakes. The batters did get a little soggy in transit but the flavor was awesome, and the fries held up well. Only wish there was a way for them to package the oysters on ice because they got a little warm before we could eat them and I didn't think to pop them in the fridge for a bit before enjoying. Still served with mignonette, and the house hot sauce was wicked good! Would definitely give this place another go when we are able to dine in.
